Iran's Naval War Game Continues in Oman Sea

zahedan,   sistan-baluchestan prov., feb. 10, irna -- the naval war game of fajr 78,   marking triumph anniversary of the revolution, continued   for the third   consecutive day in oman waters on thursday.

     rear admiral esmaeel sadeqian, the commander of the third zone   of the navy,   told irna that the first and third units of the navy   are performing marine and   coastal exercises in the operation.  

     sadeqian said the participant forces have for the third   consecutive day   tested and examined circuits and telecommunication   equipment, diving and   sailing gadgets, traded farsi and latin morse   codes, repaired and protected   related installations at the see   fleet and handled sea transportation.  

     moreover, the participants drove vessels through mine cleansed   channels and   reported surface and air targets.  

     in the third phase of the exercises performed on wednesday the   vessels shot   at mock targets and divers identified and defused   mines from the sea bed.  

     after fall of parachutes from helicopters and destruction of   hypothetical   targets in the sea, operations were launched to apply   spare parts in the   damaged naval instruments.  

     the four-day maneuvers are to end on friday.
