Landmines

Most people don't even know what landmines look like.  One of our objectives is to show what these weapons look like and how they operate.  It's amazing how people respond when they find out the size of some of mines as well as the prices.  Most people are surprise to find out that the landmines can fit in your hands (stereotypes about landmines being big and bulky still persists).  Thanks to donations primarily from the US Department of Defense Humanitarian Demining Training Center (in particular Mr. Rodney Robideau, project officer), we have secured a number of landmine boards that the US Department of Defense uses to teach American soldiers about landmines.  Below, you will find some of the material that we use in this portion of the exhibition:
